1Are the credits taken at Green Path Academy recognized by colleges and universities?
Yes, credits taken at Green Path Academy are recognized by colleges and universities. The credits also count towards your Ontario Secondary School Diploma. Therefore, credits earned at Green Path Academy are viewed no differently than the credits earned at a public school.
2How long is one semester/term at Green Path Academy and how long is a class?
At Green Path Academy, one semester and/or term is two months. Each class is three hours, totaling 110 hours at the end of the semester.
3Are the teachers qualified?
All teachers at Green Path Academy are highly qualified with a university degree in their field of teaching. Many of our teachers hold the Ontario College of Teachers license (OCT). If there are concerns about our teachers, information can be obtained before registration for a specific course.
4What is the best way to get in touch with a teacher?
The best way to get in touch with a teacher is during their office hours or in class. You can also ask the teacher for their preferred method of contact.
5How will OUAC/colleges/universities know that I am taking courses in Green Path Academy?
When a student completes midterm or finishes a course, at the student’s request, Green Path Academy will help you send your grade(s) to OUAC or any post-secondary institution. Students’ midterm and final marks will be forwarded once they have been updated.
6What courses are offered at Green Path Academy?
Green Path Academy offers a wide range of courses. A list of courses can be found on the Courses tab. If a course is not listed under the Courses tab, please contact us.
7How many people are in a class?
At Green Path Academy, our classroom size is generally from 10 to 15 students up to a maximum 20 students a class. Small size classroom gives the student an opportunity to frequently ask questions as well as ensure a standard quality of teaching.
8When can I enroll in a course?
Green Path Academy has 6 terms in a year, each term is 2 months. This gives the student the flexibility to enroll in courses that fit their schedule. A student can enroll in a course at any term, they will receive the term start date after a successful enrollment.
9If I’m an international student, do I have to take any examinations before enrolling in courses?
International students must take a placement test before enrolling in certain courses. (Such as English, Mathematics, Science, International Language Subjects, etc.) There are prerequisites you must take before enrolling in high-level courses. For example, if you want to take grade 12 Advanced Functions (MHF4U), you must pass grade 11 Functions (MCR3U).
10How many credits do I need to earn the Ontario Secondary School Diploma?
A student needs a minimum of 30 credits to qualify for Ontario Secondary School Diploma – 18 compulsory credits and 12 optional credits. Students can choose their 12 optional courses from the range of courses their school offers. Note: Student must also pass the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) or Ontario Secondary School Literacy Course (OLC4O) and serve 40 hours of community volunteer work to graduate and receive the Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
11What services do you provide to students?
Green Path Academy provides a variety of services to students. Our noticeable services are helping a student with their school transfer letter, official transcript, and one-on-one tutoring. You can find more information on Admission tab, student assistance.
